Service Writer

What your future day will look like:
- Schedule all incoming work appropriately throughout both 1st and 2nd shifts
- Set priorities based on schedule for 1st and 2nd shifts
- Provide excellence in customer service to all customers
- Maintain a live and accurate yard check
- Maintain a live and accurate account of any jobs/customers that need to be updated/approved.
- Work in tandem with Shop Foreman to ensure technicians are booked and understand job expectations.
- Schedule all incoming work appropriately throughout both 1st and 2nd shifts
- Set priorities based on schedule for 1st and 2nd shifts
- Provide excellence in customer service to all customers
- Project confidence in everything
- Answering/conducting phone calls
- Providing accurate estimates as needed
- Updating current jobs as needed
- Working with Parts Manager to: ensure part estimates are completed in timely manner; ensure and clarify parts ETA s; follow up daily on what parts have been ordered, have arrived, or have been delayed
- Maintain a live and accurate yard check
- Verify yard check accuracy at beginning of shift to ensure priorities are determined from correct information
- Continually update and monitor yard check information throughout the day as jobs arrive, progress, or get completed.
- Ensure jobs are properly recorded for scheduling purposes I.e. the jobs are properly labeled with which day they are to be started and/or completed
- Maintain a live and accurate account of any jobs/customers that need to be updated/ approved.
- Each day monitor any follow up information that is needed from the previous day s work
- Inform Shop Foreman of any specific information that is needed (or that has been obtained) so that the customer can be fully informed
- Maintain a record of any customers needing to be contacted for updates/approval as needed
- Work in tandem with Shop Foreman to ensure technicians are booked and understand job expectations
- Periodically throughout the day checking in with Shop Foreman on job status to ensure schedule is being maintained within reasonable expectations
- Communicating consistently throughout the day with the Shop Foreman to ensure technicians have enough work scheduled to keep shop productive
