Tax Compliance Consultant
Job Description
Salary: $45-50/hour

- This role aligns with my experience managing complex, multi-entity tax compliance initiatives, including resolving historical filing issues, researching outstanding items, and coordinating with agencies to bring jurisdictions back into compliance.
- You will be building structure from complexity, whether through organizing documentation, securing and managing system access, collaborating across departments, or implementing sustainable processes that support long-term compliance and operational stability.

What your future day will look like:
- Identify, research, and resolve outstanding tax filings, notices, payment discrepancies, and aged balances across sales tax, property tax, and business licenses, while coordinating with agencies and accounting to ensure liabilities are accurately recorded and cleared.
- Manage and maintain access to all state and local tax portals by obtaining credentials, standardizing account access, documenting security requirements, and ensuring appropriate access for Finance, Accounting, and Compliance teams.
- Collect, organize, and maintain a centralized repository of tax filings, registrations, notices, and correspondence, ensuring documentation is complete, audit-ready, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments and external stakeholders, tracking filing deadlines, supporting registrations and entity updates, and coordinating the resolution of audits, notices, and agency inquiries.
- Drive process improvements by documenting current challenges, implementing standardized compliance tracking and monitoring procedures, supporting the transition to ongoing compliance operations, and helping integrate best practices into future acquisition onboarding and compliance programs.

To be a champion in this role, you will need:
- Experience in multi-state tax compliance (sales/use tax, property tax, and/or business licenses)
- Experience working with tax portals and government agencies
- Proficiency in Excel and document management systems

Ginny Beach has been a member of the Godshall team since 1994. She currently oversees all recruiting and staffing operations for Godshall. Prior to working at Godshall, Ginny worked as a recruiter in the Philadelphia area. She has a master's degree from the University of Maryland and a bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston. Like a lot of her colleagues, she is also a Certified Staffing Professional through the American Staffing Associate. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of the Upstate, and the Business Advocacy Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. She has also served on the Board of Connections, Women Leaders of the Upstate, and has been involved with United Way's Success By 6 campaign. Ginny continues to have a passion for understanding the needs of the companies we serve and matching candidates with a great career.
